Shipping origins
Windward Plant ships from China, the United States or Thailand, depending on the plant variety and stock availability.
The actual country of dispatch for each product will be stated on the product page or in the order quote before payment. A US delivery address does not mean that an order will necessarily ship from within the United States.
Plants in the same order may ship from different locations. If separate shipments are needed, we will explain each package’s origin, shipping cost and estimated timeframe before payment. If the country of dispatch needs to change after an order is confirmed, we will obtain your consent first.
Delivery areas
We offer delivery services across the United States and support delivery inquiries and order arrangements for most countries and regions. Shipping eligibility depends on the plant variety, plant form, country of dispatch, destination requirements and available carrier services.
Plant receiving requirements may differ between US states and territories. Please contact us before payment for Hawaii, Alaska, US territories and other special destinations.
Shipping conditions may differ for tissue culture (TC) plants, corms, bare-root plants and mature plants. If the destination’s transport or import requirements cannot be met, we will not ship the order. Paid orders that we cannot fulfill will be cancelled and refunded.
Preparation and transit times
Preparation time and transit time are calculated separately:
- Preparation time: Covers stock confirmation, plant health checks, packing, and any necessary export phytosanitary inspections and paperwork.
- Transit time: Starts when the package is handed to the carrier and depends on the origin, destination and selected shipping method.
Estimated preparation days and transit times for each order will be stated separately on the product page or in the quote before payment. Arrangements for preorders, special varieties and orders requiring additional permits will be specified separately.
Estimated timeframes are not guaranteed delivery dates. Weather, flights, customs inspections and plant quarantine checks may affect progress. If a significant delay occurs, we will notify you promptly and help follow up.
Shipping charges and cost breakdown
Order costs may include the plants, packing and shipping, phytosanitary certificate fees, and any applicable import taxes and duties, customs clearance service fees or remote-area surcharges.
We will state the fees we collect on the product page, checkout page or quote before payment, including which costs are included and which may be charged separately by destination customs or the carrier.
Unless the order explicitly states that taxes and duties or destination customs clearance fees are included, please do not assume that the shipping charge includes all import costs. Charges imposed separately at the destination may not be possible to calculate precisely in advance.
Combined shipping for multiple plants depends on their dispatch locations, package volume and phytosanitary requirements. Packages dispatched from different countries generally require separate shipping charges.
Export documents and import formalities
Our responsibilities: Verify the export and transport conditions for the plants sold; arrange export phytosanitary inspections, phytosanitary certificates, accurate declarations and accompanying documents as applicable; and pack and dispatch plants in accordance with the confirmed import permit requirements.
Buyer responsibilities: Where documents or qualifications must be obtained in the recipient’s name, obtain the destination’s required import permits, quarantine labels or other receiving qualifications and provide valid information before shipment. Buyers must also cooperate with customs clearance and pay destination taxes, duties and related charges that are not included in the order.
If an order includes import agency or customs clearance assistance, we will specify the service scope, fees and any information still required from the buyer before payment. Services not expressly listed in the order are not included by default.
Orders shipped from US stock locations to US delivery addresses generally do not require the buyer to complete cross-border import formalities, but must still comply with the destination’s plant transport requirements. Orders shipped from China or Thailand to the United States require import requirements to be checked for the specific plants and shipping method.
Customs issues and delivery problems
If a package is subject to customs or plant quarantine inspection, please forward any notice to us promptly. We will help provide documents and assist with resolving the issue.
If a problem is caused by errors in documents we provide, inaccurate declarations or our failure to follow the confirmed shipping requirements, we will take responsibility as appropriate and provide a resolution.
If a problem is caused by the buyer’s failure to provide clearly requested permit information, incorrect delivery details or failure to cooperate promptly with customs clearance, we will discuss a resolution based on the actual cause, costs incurred and applicable law.
